The Summer Academy, newly established in 2020, is the qualification format of the JIK. While aimed at the young network, the academy is open to newcomers.

The Summer Academy is a collective learning space with the goal of delving deeper into key topics, applying what has been learned from participants’ own life contexts, and sharing lessons learned as multipliers.

The Summer Academy is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) as part of the federal programme “Live Democracy!” and the Stiftung Mercator. These academies take place within the framework of the competence network ‘Living Together in a Migration Society.’
